Over 80 years ago Clarence "Pappy" Hoel purchased an Indian Motorcycle franchise in Sturgis, SD. The Jackpine Gypsies Motorcycle club was formed in 1936 with 7 original members who held the very first motorcycle rally in Sturgis called the Black Hills Classic... The rest, as they say, is history..
The original Full Throttle Saloon was 30 acres in Sturgis, SD purchase by Michael Ballard in 1990. The bar officially opened in 1999 and has made changes and improvements each year. In 2015, a tragic fire leveled the bar, but Michael never skipped a beat, or a Rally. By summer 2016, the full throttle was bare bones, but definitely open for the 76th Annual Rally in there current location on over 600 acres when combine with the Pappy Hoel Campground.
In an effort to one up his own efforts every year and create the biggest baddest biker bar, in June 2019 Michael went on the lookout for creative metal artist , not just in Sturgis, but nationwide.
